Drippers

We have a wide selection of drippers made by top manufacturers including Antelco, Toro and Netafim. They are suitable for pots, troughs, planters, hanging baskets and beds.

Most drippers are ‘pressure compensated’, which means they will always emit a set amount of water, no matter what the pressure or flow of your tap is. ‘Pressure compensated’ is often abbreviated to ‘PC’.

Most drippers are stand-alone – they just give out their water and that’s it. But some are ‘in-line’, and that means they can be daisy chained to each other, usually using 4mm tubing.

In terms of water capacity, most drippers give out 2 litres per hour, some give 4 litres per hour, some 8 litres per hour. ‘Litres per hour’ is often abbreviated to ‘LPH’ or ‘lph’. If you have a massive potted plant, you might use an 8 LPH dripper for it. For a regular potted plant, you might use a 2 LPH dripper for it. In both cases you might just run the water for 15 minutes so as not to over-water the plant.

Because drippers (and dripline) emit far less water than sprays, they can be used in large numbers yet are still happy to be supplied by a garden tap or tap timer. They just need to be run for more time than sprays.

Our most popular drippers by far are Antelco CETA.
